The opening for Derek Smith and Terry O’Malley’s exhibition was a great success on Friday night with many pieces sold. The opening speech was made by Max Angus and as usual he both entertained and commanded the floor. Perhaps his greatest encouragement was for artists to take risks as evidenced by Terry and Derek’s art. At 97 most of our guests were stunned by Max as he spoke without reference to any notes. We had a good crowd with many people spilling out onto the pavement. We are both privileged and proud to be exhibiting such fine work by two accomplished artists.

Rest and Recreation

After a very busy year, we consented to Michael having a well earned rest – so he’s taken himself off on an overseas adventure. I’m sure he’ll come back with some fabulous tales to tell and great new ideas for the Gallery. We expect to see him rejuvinated with extra vigour and enthusiasm (if that’s at all possible). We’ll miss his presence in the gallery but Ian and I will keep things ticking over.

Pop in and view some wonderful new works by Paul Tilyard, Raymond Dean Vicki McDonald and Roger Murphy.
